church ledgends...

Spent a good half of a grey day earlier this week building a run in and jump by a picturesque mountainside church, with the intention of sessioning and shooting it in the late afternoon sun with a bbq, a few drinks and some good peeps... Unfortunately after a couple of sausages and a few hits we were accosted by ski patrol who informed us that "we might die" if we tried to ride down after the last piste control... Thankfully we avoided death and re set our afternoon bbq halfway down the home run. Thanks to all the peeps for an ace afternoon... No thanks to melodramatic jerks on skidoos...

hot and cold...

Spent another day at Kaltenbach yesterday trying to get some pics with Ollie and a freind of his Rick, who usually spends his days shaping the Penken park... We were unfortunately hampered by cloud which seemed to inconveniently position itself over the park for the best part of the day. In contrast to the chilly conditions in the park, the run to mid station was warm and slushy, making for some scenic spring time shred shots...

Killing Kaltenbach...

Ventured out to the Zillertal last week to catch up with Ollie Plumley and Tom West (two of the UK’s finest based in Mayrhofen) and check out the park at Kaltenbach, a resort they’d been telling me about all season. It didn’t disappoint and I left a happy homie; memory cards full of sunshine saturated sequences and stills. Cheers to Tom and Ollie and the rest of the British lads for tearing it up all day! I’ll be back soon… Woop!

raintal mail(man)...

Despite the lift being closed, a bunch of us hiked in, and out, of the Raintal area yesterday in search of some shade, and possibly the last pow of the year. It was an epic crew, an epic day and everyone gave it a solid crack... MVP has to go to visiting friend Joel Maley for both his pop and his envy inducing methods. Mailman used to be one of Australia's best bodyboard photogs back in the day, so it was ace to catch up and see that he's ripping just as hard at his new favourite past time...

wangl tangl snow...

Twas another mission to Mayrhofen on Wednesday in the hope of catching some of the Wangl Tangl snow event. Unfortunately the light wasn't the best and the riders decided to can it in favour of shooting some photos on the incredibly crafted end section. There was quite a few guys shooting so I had a walk around and tried to find some unique angles, but didn't really get what I was after. Got to take the bad days with the good i guess...

wangl tangl skate...

Been cruising in the Zillertal these last couple of days checking out the Aesthetiker Wangl Tangl, an annual week long festival of snowboarding, skateboarding, music and art. Tuesday night saw the skate best trick contest on a sweet Vans mini ramp setup, with peeps from all over Europe shredding hard for cash and prizes.
There was so much good skateboarding but trick of the comp for me was Phil Zwijsen's bs alley oop kickflip from the extension in. Dude worked hard for it and it was epic to see him get his trick!
Here's a few pics from the night, cross processed for some St Patricks Day greenery... Enjoy!

shred down...

Just managed to catch the last 15 minutes of the Shred Down Jib Knights contest in Westerndorf this evening... Gapping the kink seemed seemed to be flavour of the evening... Local ripper Simon Pircher put down an epic gap to back lip before sticking this nollie fs1 50-50 to cab1 out...

tree jib birthday bbq...

Headed back to Waidring today to try our hand at a tree jib and enjoy a bbq and a few beers for our good mate Scotty's birthday. So ace when a plan comes together!
We spent the morning hacking branches, shaping in the run in, sculpting the kick on and after a couple of positive test hits, took a short bbq lunch break. By this stage the clouds had cleared and everyone was psyched for a stoke filled afternoon. What's better than taking an idea, making it a reality and enjoying a super session with a bunch of your best friends? Sweet life...
Everyone nailed an ace pic after the morning of hard work and we managed to get the last lift up, for just about the last gondola down, happy campers...
Happy days to Scott, and cheers to everyone for making it happen!
Like I said it's ACE when a plan comes together...
And there's the crew...
Shovel ride to work...
Hard work payin off...
BBQ break time...
Birthday boy to FS1...
Jmery...
Steemo...
Rick James to BS1...
Cheers yo!
What a crew... what a day... x

waidring adventures...

Headed out to the nearby resort of Waidring today to do some adventuring and shooting with friend Lachy Gray. Despite the lack of fresh falls recently, the quality of snow was really good in areas and both on and off piste were super fun. Lachy had been eyeing up this drop for a while though he ended up kind of tail pressing down it to make the most of the short landing!
Cheers for an ace day of adventuring pal!
