So after many attempts at repair, I finally had to accept, earlier this year, that my beloved Hasselblad Xpan is dead... Final autopsy revealed irreparable water damage... Sad times...

Rather than shell out for a new body, i decided to try a cheaper, Russian alternative (what seems to be becoming a more and more common solution for me) Presenting the Horizon 202!

He's a strange and wily beast, but takes some pretty rad panoramic images, given the right conditions!

A trip out to Cape Solander during the 2016 Shark Island Challenge waiting period brought back a flood of fond memories recently. Chasing and shooting waves out near Kurnell at Fear and De Niros back in the day... It's a crazy place to watch the ocean when there's a solid swell running... I've been delving into the world of portable, sustainable architecture of late, inspired partly by outrageous property prices in Sydney, partly by trying to work out how to make a difference in a more sustainable future for the planet... My good friend Richard Stewart is a few years ahead of me in this department having started out with the refurbished railway carriage pictured below, moving on to a building a full eco house, a life on the road in a refitted old van and now scouring boatyards for forgotten hulls to turn into maritime masterpieces...

A lot can change in less than a year! 

Last September my favourite person in the world surprised me in Sydney Park by asking for my hand in marriage... Since then, we've planned and celebrated our Australian wedding and honeymoon'd down the east coast of Oz, among our usual hectic social and sporting calendars... : ) What a life!

So it was on that sunny September morning, I was surprised with bunting, bubbles and a slightly blubbering Lucy Higgins asking for my hand in marriage... LOVE...

Ahhh Bondi Beach you are a cruel bitch at times...

This may look like a relaxing, picturesque summer afternoon, but what's not shown is the hour plus drive to cover 5km and the hour plus wait for a schnitzel in the local RSL in an attempt to avoid the same traffic on the return journey... Never again...

So last year, I played my first full season of 11 a side football with the Collaroy Cromer Strikers. Well, almost a full season... Sadly, I tore my MCL in my right knee, in the week before the grand final... Which we won, along with the minor premiership... Sigh...

Anyway, to celebrate an awesome season with a bunch of awesome peeps, we ventured north to Forresters Beach and enjoyed a lads weekend of drinking, FIFA on Xbox, drinking, playing beach football and... more drinking... Super stoked to have ended up on a team full of such ace peeps! CC!
