down the danube part 8... wachau wonder

Each day of our travels seemed to bring new, unexpected adventures but, for me at least, today was always going to be a highlight. I'd visited the Wachau before, during my time living in Austria, and i knew its combination of vineyards and vistas would make for an unforgettable part of the journey.
What I didn't for see was being welcomed into a village party for the opening of a local bank and being invited on a private tour of the church tower by the towns preist. Blessed...
Amazing weather, food and wine and one of the most memorable days of our holiday...
The vines of Winegut Hofstaetter above the town of Spitz set the scene for our day of indulgence with tables full of wine, cheese, meat and dips...
The team get amongst the grapes...
 A creepy ossiary in Woesendorf...
 Snicker making friends in Weissenkirchen...
 Band of Hor(n)ses...
Mama steps in for a tune with twinkle toes Manfred...
The heavenly view over Weissenkirchen and down the Danube from the top of the church tower... Thanks for the tour Peter...
