a quick trip to copenhagen...

With a few days in between my return from Austria and my departure for Copenhagen, I decided to maximise every minute by catching up with as many friendly London faces as I possibly could! It was a whirlwind couple of days, but getting some one on one time with family and friends was amazing, and left me feeling fulfilled and full of good vibes...
As if things couldn't get any better, we were soon touching down in CPH, a place I've had a city crush on since a spontaneous visit in 2012... We stayed with friends Scott and Sophia (two of the hardest working food and wine frothers known to man!) in their apartment in Norrebro, and were treated to a tour of some of the city's nicest nooks for eating and drinking... The vibe in CPH is certainly infectious and it seems to have all the right things going for it... But at the end of the day it's the people who make a place... Huge thanks to Scott, Sophia, Adam, Rikke and the friends we made along the way for making the holiday part of our holiday so awesome... Big love xxoo

a change of plans...

So my original plan following the Maden/Ramsay wedding was to head off adventuring to The Faroe Islands via Copenhagen for a frosty photographic expedition...
However, after my brother's bucks, a boozy week long road trip, my brother's wedding, two days of travel to Europe, jetlag, hayfever and another fun filled wedding, I was running on empty...
So I decided to instead jet to the familiar town of Kitzbuehel in Tirol to visit some old friends, do some cycling, and generally refresh by breathing in some fresh alpine air...
Big thanks to Josl and Wirlybird for teeing up my surprise arrival and to two of the finest, Millpop and AMK for the hospitality and golden times... Big love! xxoo

le bron's time is now...

Here's another larger than life commercial production I played a small part in late last year (again as a trainee grip), Nike's "My Time is Now" campaign which featured in the lead up to this years EM. The five or so seconds we worked on (from about 1m18s) was with none other than basketballer Le Bron James, arguably this generations Michael Jordan
Production apparently had a maximum of two hours with King James, who'd flown in on a charter flight from Miami with a solid entourage. The whole scene was pretty funny... Jay Z and Weezy playing between takes and a lot of swagger on set... What really surprised me was just how obvious it was that Le Bron LOVES basketball.
Maybe that might seem like an odd thing to say, but seeing the best basketballer in the world unable to keep the ball out of his hands, dribbling, dunking over anything hanging around the 10ft mark, pretty much like a kid with his favourite new toy, was pretty awesome to watch...
Super stoked with the final product too! Nice work Nike!

paralympic passion...

Enjoyed an afternoon at Olympic Park on Sunday taking in the inspirational spectacle that is the Paralympics. We were scheduled to see the evening session of track and field in the main stadium but managed to luck into some of the wheelchair basketball too... Cheers Mellis!
I've not really seen a lot of stadium sport so the vibe once inside the venue, for me, was something else... A virtual sea of positivity stretched all around as spectators of all different colour and creed cheered their countrymen on to amazing achievements... We got to see Sourpuss-torious get silver in the t44 200m final, long jump, javelin, discus and some especially inspiring visually impaired sprinting, but the highlight was definitely the t54 5000m final eventually won by David Weir.
It was a tactical race for the most part, and not especially fast in terms of records, but I will never in my life forget the atmosphere and sheer noise as the bell rang for the final lap... I've got goosebumps just thinking about it now! Amazing...
Local support abounded...
Organisation was impeccable...
Tip off at the basketball, GB vs Poland...
GB for two... Nothing but net...
Fanning out...
The T44 200m final on their marks...
And the crowd goes wild!
