Twas an early rise once more and a couple of hours of train and bus time on our way to Passau to pick up our bikes from Rent a Bike Passau... I think we all initially had fears about weight and space on our bikes, but these were soon put to rest and by mid afternoon we were off, heading out of picturesque Passau, across the border, and on our way to our first overnight stop in Engelhartszell. With warm weather, a quicker than expected journey, an infinity pool awaiting our arrival at camp, and schnitzel for dinner, it was a perfect start to the trip...

After years of dreaming and months of planning, on the 26th of May 2012, a group of eight intrepid adventurers headed off to Germany with a plan to cycle and camp our way across Austria (some 350km from Passau to Vienna) following the mighty Danube river. And what an adventure it was... A little note to go with these next few posts...

In keeping with our stripped down adventuring, i decided to take only one camera with me, my recently purchased Kiev 60. I shot a total of seven 120 rolls during the 10 days; five Fuji 400, one Ilford Pan F 50 and one Ilford Delta 3200. Unfortunately, it wasn't until I had all the films processed on return that i realised there'd been a problem with the camera. The result was, sadly, a lot of blown out photos. Some I like, some i don't, but overall, I'm still really happy i chose to shoot film. Live and learn...

Sifting through the archives is always fun, especially for bringing back fond memories. I'm trying to get some images together to update my website and came across these pics from this time last year in Berlin... I'd finished up work around 1am and decided to roam the streets on my bike till the early hours setting up some long exposures... Fun times and a different perspective of one of my favourite cities...

While strolling around Kreuzberg on a recent Berlin trip, alongside hosts with the most Francis and Helga, we happened upon an exhibition at the Bethanian Kunstlerhaus which included a DIY bowl built by Dave the Chimp and friends... Fun, though not easy to skate, and aesthetically awesome, it's an amazing example of the skate community bringing creativity to the city... Check it out and have a shred while you can as it's due to go by the end of October!
