ditc... golden art...

Wow Bobby Brown! I’ll bet you and New Edition caused some controversy in Germany!
Giant shades and Christmas jumpers never get old!
 Just gangsta walk...
 Epic madness...
I never knew Andre 3000 (far right) was part of the Furious Five?!
Somewhere between Reg Mombassa and Ed Templeton...
Awesome simplicity... And loving the Allalahs right now...

mix o music...

Had a bit of a charity shop field day last week...
Some golden Billie Holiday, electro beats care of Mantronix and some Bananarama to top it off, cause that was my 80s childhood... All for the outrageous price of £1.50... Dreamy...
Cause everyone needs more Billie in their life...

vinyl voyage... sub focus

Drum and bass is what I most love to mix on the ones and twos... Many of yall will recognise the name Sub Focus as he's been blowing up big time in the last few years, most recently with his single 'Out the blue'. It's always awesome to see proper dnb artists getting mainstream recognition instead of bandwagon jumpers...
Xray was his first really big breakout tune on the legendary Ram Records and takes me back to New Years day 2005 at an event called Sunshine People where it got smashed and rewound by pretty much every DJ... Meeeemmmooorrriiieessss... Rad album art too...

vinyl voyage... pm dawn

So a couple o months back, I decided that I'd like to have a record player with which to enjoy my regularly increasing vinyl collection... Enter this lovely pair of Numark direct drives with a 2 channel mixer and speakers for under £100... I'll take it!

Though both my brother and I used to be junkies for hip hop and dnb back at the start of the century, (we've still got a stack o crates down under, and i still buy bits of dnb from time to time...) my enjoyment for buying vinyl has shifted more towards digging through charity shops and small record stores in search of interesting cover art... My goodness there's some gold out there...
What's even more awesome about buying vinyl with this impetus is that you come across some epic tunes from time to time. At times it's a musical lucky dip that can end in tears (or bleeding ears) but i love it nonetheless...
Anyway, I thought I'd share some of this music and art on the regs from now on... I'll try and post online links to tunes, if they're available... Hope yall enjoy! x
Todays selection is an absolute classic and one I know my brother's going to fan out on...

lewisham living...

Trying to juggle a bunch of things settling in to a new life at the moment... Job hunting, photo editing, area exploring as well as fulfilling the many domestic duties of a man about the house... In between the madness, I've managed to find time to get myself a new ride, picked an all time album on vinyl in nearby Greenwich and host our first of many garden parties to come... Roll on summer in lovely Lewisham...

records rock...

For a while now, one of my guilty pleasures has been sifting through the old vinyl section of charity shops in search of both good tunes and interesting art. While visiting my good friend Mr Francis Jones in Berlin last year I noticed he had a bunch of classic covers (including Herbie Hancock's Headhunters and any number of incredible Rick James albums) up on show...
I'd been meaning to get my hands on some of these picture pockets for a while now so Deborah, Lionel and John could all hang out together, like brothers in arms... Yesterday they arrived and our living room has never looked so good!
