blackheath wanderers...

My girl Lucy absolutely loves netball, and has found herself an ace group of girls to play with in our local area, the Blackheath Wanderers... I went along a couple of weeks back to check out their skills, support the team and take a few pics with the ol' Xpan, on what was an unseasonally warm March day... Lovely lovely Lewisham...

Was super stoked to have some panoramic pics featured in the latest issue of Le Boogie magazine. The Hasselblad Xpan I shot the images with is such a beautiful camera and though it's often a challenge finding the right situation for it, when all the factors come together, it's gold in grain...

Speaking of film, I've been shooting a lot more of it lately with both the Xpan and my trusty old Yashica 124, inspired mostly by a young Frenchman by the name of Jerome Tanon. Check out his website, especially the double exposures... You shan't be disappointed!

Twas the last pow day of the season in Kitz, alas most of the crew were mashed up to bits, 

Mark Ellis' birthday was the cause of the 'mare, twas no-one up early enough to share, 

A frosty spring morning, and a foot of white gold, a last chance for powder, the forecast had told,

So for a few hours, a solo shred, some slashing, some drops and some chutes on my sled,

Till out of the clouds of white against blue, came a friend named Paul and a Chancellor too,

So out came the Xpan, I got in the spot, and as Steemo flew by, this was the shot...

Big pieces of film! Like an unexpected present, it's always a pleasure to get a delivery back from the lab... Though I haven't had a huge opportunity to use the xpan this year, these two shots accurately sum up what was one of the finest days of the season for me...
