A few of us managed to sneak away for some more Ballina wedges early before an afternoon of organisation and an evening of fun at The Treehouse...

yamba to ballina trippin...

Our third day of road trippin will I'm sure be burned in our collective memories for many years to come…
The view from our reasonably priced room suggested there was still lingering swell and the call was made to check out the nearby point break of Angourie… We arrived to find inconsistent peeling rights under picturesque blue skies, but few of us expected the treats awaiting us around the corner…
For the next few hours we were treated to some of the funnest 2 foot peaks you could ever find… Thankfully, a couple of the photos actually do the session justice…
Moving north towards Byron, we stopped in at South Wall Ballina and, though the wind had turned, there were still loads of fun wedges to be shared…
Following a golden ferry ride back to the highway, we paid a visit to Ballina's giant prawn before moving on to Byron to get settled in our various accommodations…
It was wild to think what an epic few days it had been…
Even crazier to think back now, that the good times were just beginning…
Roll over and check the swell...
Angourie in all its glory...
 Buck in headlights...
 Buck bouffon...
 Definitely a couple out there...
 Jig locks in...
 Still checkin?! But why?!
Pick a craft, any craft... This shot sums up this session for me...
 Wedgey! Including the horizon...

"Shoulda seen my one down the beach..."
 Golden times...
 Prawn vibes...
North wall also had a couple...

let the fun begin...

Early checks revealed epic conditions, but Coffs just wasn't quite working so after an epic team breakfast fry up we continued our journey north to the glorious breakwall of Iluka. 2-3 feet of dreamy wedges greeted us and barrels and boosts were shared between our crew till the wind came up...
We decided to track back to Yamba to spend the night at The Pacific Hotel and, after setting up camp, watched the sun go down with a few ales by the sea... Our luck even continued into the night as a few of the fellas managed to pick winners on the dogs as we chatted the evening away... Pretty glorious times...

riders on the storm...

As if coming off the back of a bucks weekend wasn't enough to deal with, our crew of crusaders from all over then had to battle through the worst Sydney storms in 10 years on our way north to the wedding destination of Byron Bay...
With trees across roads, mass blackouts, 100kmh winds and freeways flooded, it was an interesting journey north to say the least!
Thankfully, after 8 or so hours on the road, we pulled up in Coffs north of the low pressure system and rolled into an amazing resort hookup care of our brother from another mother, Mr Dion Myers.
Excitement levels were high and though the surf in Coffs didn't end up delivering, the Big Banana certainly did....
Pearl of the north looked brutal...
And washed up pieces of a broken boat
And a couple o salty sea dogs...
Patonga was closed for the day...
 Roadblock...
 Buzzing...
8 hours to sunshine... And bananas...
