we all become silhouettes...

So after a good deal of thought and planning, I've decided to put an exhibition of my photographs out there into the big wide world, care of the wonderful people at Black Listed Gallery in Surry Hills, Sydney.
The exhibition is titled "We All Become Silhouettes" and is a collection of images focussing on shape and form, in surf, snow, skate and the world around us. I'm super excited to be able to share some of my work and see some of my favourite captured moments in beautiful, large-scale, printed form...
Speaking of fine, printed form, the exhibition will also be proudly supported by the legendary Paul Jarvis at Perth Pro Lab... www.pauljarvis.com.au
The opening night is Tuesday July 8th (from 6pm) and it will run through till the 14th.
For more information check out the following links...
Below are just a few of the images that will be showing...
Hope you enjoy and, if you're in Sydney, you can make it down for a drink and a view!

white lines...

It's that time of year when the northern winter wonderland starts to weigh on one's mind... This one's from a little while back but for some reason it never made the blog... One of my first forays into using gels ended up working out pretty sweetly at a well known Hochfilzen rail in Austria... British ripper Niell Campbell nailed a bunch of tricks this evening, with the below front lip making the cut... Stoked!

30/366 spreads - january 3rd

I figure it's about time I started to put some spreads from 30/366 online.
The journey continues to find a publisher or a quality self publishing option, but for now, I'm going to try to post a spread at least every week...
From the 3rd of January, Mr Mark Bell...

white lines 103 - light in colour...

A short trip to Austria in 2012 ended up being super productive for me photographically and I was psyched to see this colourful shot of British rider Niell Campbell get a run in White Lines 103...
Below is the featured single and a few other pics from the session...
Niell Campbell, pink and green front lip...
Setting up the well known Hochfilz "Dum" rail...
Raffi Tonitz, steezy front blunt 270...
Niell again nosepressing as Raffi watches from below...
Sarah Jane Phillips jumping on a back 50-50...
Ollie Plumley, lazy, low armed back lip...
Peace! Niell chilling post sesh...

wsc... holmenkollen

One of the many things that separated the WSC 2012 from other contests was the quarter pipe built under the instruction of Terje Haakonsen at the bottom of the famous Holmenkollen ski jump...
The stadium atmosphere on the night of the quarter pipe finals was out of this world, but equally moody was the foggy practice session I witnessed the day before... It's a pretty special place and it was amazing to watch Terje and the rest of the guys testing the water and pushing the limits without the cheering masses... Snowboarding for real...

wsc 2012... nate johnstone...

While covering WSC 2012, I had the opportunity to meet, and shoot with, one of Australia's biggest snowboarding talents, Mr Nate Johnstone. Riding all the way from the early qualifying rounds, Nate ended up in 5th place, a respectable effort considering the quality of the field. He definitely impressed a lot of people, going huge throughout the event and saved his best till last, putting down a double cork 10 on the last hit of his final run... Though I haven't seen either, both Australian Snowboarding and Mens Fitness ran one of my shots of Nate following the his performance... Here's some of my favourites from the 10 days of riding...
Good luck for the coming northern winter Nate!
Taking flight in the afternoon light...
All smiles...
Big backside 9 on finals night...
Up there with the best of them...
Double corking in the finals...
