BULA!

A couple o weeks back, I had the amazing opportunity to work on still and motion content for Fiji Airways through some of my favourite people at FLIPP Management. There was a lot of Fijian pride abuzz all over the island as Fiji were hoping to win their first Olympic medal in the mens rugby sevens. Fast forward a week and it was GOLD for the small island nation! Huge congratulations to the team, and all our Fijian friends we met along the way!
Our trip was a full on few days of running around Nadi Airport but we were super happy with the results, given our small team, logistics and time constraints. The motion piece is below and the stills are up on the Fiji Airways Facebook page...
Fiji is beautiful in many ways, but the friendliness and hospitality of its people is what really sets it apart. Bula vinaka!

coldplay paradise...

Wow, only three months without a blog?! Lazy or busy, call it what you will. There's been no lack of exciting things happening, but finding the time and/or inclination has been a challenge... Anyway, old father time has finally presented some spare minutes so I figured I'd get cracking...
What better way to start than with the final product from one of my favourite jobs of the year, working on Coldplay's "Paradise" video. For various reasons, this wasn't released as the official clip for the song, but it's such a beautiful piece of work, one that I'm truly proud to have been a part of.
Great humans coming together to create something special.
Thanks to Black Dog, Shyanola, Richard Stewart and everyone involved. Looking forward to working with you all again soon.
Here's a few behind the scenes pics from the four day shoot, and the final clip below... Enjoy...

A couple of weeks back, I had the awesome opportunity to spend a day on Dartmoor assisting on the new promo for musician and artist Keaton Henson, directed by David Wilson with DOP Richard Stewart. Twas an amazing day, a great crew, and a beautiful end result. Here's a few pics from the day, and the promo, below... Big thanks to everyone involved... Good times...

playing catchup...

Where does the time go? It's been a busy summer for me with a healthy combination of work and play. The weather has been far from exceptional, though the UK finally managed to get its act together for the last week or so, providing us with some much needed sunshine and vitamin d before all the beautiful leaves start to fall... Bitter sweet...
Over the next week or so I'll be trying to update ze blog with various bits and pieces from the summer, starting off with this...
I've been lucky enough to work alongside, and learn from, a friend by the name of Danny Laviada on various jobs over the last couple of months, an introduction into the world of gripping. I've been loving it, learning while getting to work on some pretty big commercial sets for the likes of the British Lotteries Commission and Aviva Insurance. Massive thanks Danny!
Here's a few pics from the Lotto shoot at a zoo in Norwich, including an amazing sunset on our final day... And a gorilla on a jetski... Hopefully the ads will be available soon...

you need me man, i don't need you...

Lagging a little on the blog front, again... Busy, busy...
Anyway, a couple of weeks back I assisted on the new film clip for Ed Sheeran, for his tune, "You Need Me, I Don't Need You".  A studio background, a simple rig and some well structured lighting made the shoot simple but gave it a really strong feel, and I'm a big fan of the end result.
Twas also another good opportunity to get familiar with the Arri Alexa, which seems to be the 35mm camera of choice at the minute...
Big ups to DOP Richard Stewart and Director Emil Nava for getting the job done and all the talent and staff involved for bringing it together! You can check out the final product here, or below...
Talented peeps...
That's a big set...

Mr Sheeran...
