Ahhhh Victoria, the home of cousins! For me anyway... This property on Plains Road has been in the Allinson family for a long time and holds so many memories for me through different parts of my life... It was awesome to go back recently and make some more... Big love to all my favourite Victorians!

Back in February, one of my fabulous friends, Miss Nicola Robey hatched an amazing plan for a group of her bestest friends to join her in a giant old manor on Dartmoor, in celebration of her day of birth... What resulted was an incredible weekend of food, fun, dress ups, midnight margaritas, morning bloody marys, sardines, rambling walks, pub pints, sheep herding, blackouts, interpretive music and dance, all to the soundtrack of Ginuwine's Pony on repeat... All the best things in life... Thanks for organising the raddest of weekends Snicker!

Was stoked to help put together an ad for Jeff Hubb's clothing sponsor, Ocean Current, for the latest Riptide, Issue 187. Hubby had a bangin year, was ripping in the Canaries and was really unlucky to be pipped at the post for the world title by PLC in the final event at Fronton. 

No dwelling on past defeats for this Hawaiian though as he took out the first IBA event of 2012 at Pipe in February! Cheers to Hubby for the good Canarian times, OC for the ad and Ruben Grimon for the mountain adventure which brought about the portrait!

a week of winter... part one...

So at the end of January this year, I made my way back to old faithful Kitzbuhel which, due to my absence, was experiencing one of it's best winters in recent history. It was a trip jam packed full of fun; hard work over the annual Hahnenkamm ski race, late night urban shoots, long days chasing a white powdery dragon and long nights chasing Captain Morgan and his associates...

Twas an amazing and uber productive trip, so every day this week I'm going to be sharing a little of my one week of winter...

I did my first ever winter snow season in 2007 in Kitzbuhel. Snow wise, it was the worst winter there in 20 years and I managed to break my left shoulder twice resulting in two sperate operations over a 3 month period. Despite all this, I managed to fall in love with the place, stayed for the summer and have been back every winter since. Here's a few oldies but goodies I found recently to bring some memories floating back...

river riding 2008...

A few years ago I embarked on an amazing journey with my parents, uncle and aunty, to travel the length of the Canal Du Midi (from Toulouse in Southeast France to Agde on the Mediterranean) Over the course of eight days we covered about 250km, saw many beautiful sights and gorged ourselves on baguettes, cheese, wine and cassoulet. Sweet life.

I'm reminded of this as, in just a couple of months, we'll be setting off again on the second installment of river riding, this time across Austria following the mighty Danube!

Back in November I decided to go against the advice of the local geese(rs) and fly north in search of some new waves, landscapes and experiences. Two weeks later I returned with all three boxes ticked and a new love for this particular part of the world... I'll be seeing you again soon... This time probably when the geese are on their way back...
